Lobby Communications Policy
PURPOSE
The church lobby is one of the best environments we have for personal conversations, relationship building, and helping people take their next step.
Unlike Vision Sharing, which communicates to the entire congregation at one time, the lobby provides opportunities for one-on-one conversations where questions can be answered, stories can be shared, and people can discover ministries that fit their season of life.
These guidelines exist to help ministry leaders understand how lobby promotions are scheduled and how we steward this important communication opportunity.
The goal is not simply to advertise events. The goal is to help people make meaningful connections while maintaining a welcoming, uncluttered, and intentional lobby environment.
THE LOBBY PROMOTION OPPORTUNITY
Approved ministries may be scheduled to host a lobby promotion during a weekend service.
Each approved promotion will be provided:
The emphasis should always be on conversations and connections rather than sales or solicitation.
Our desire is for every interaction to help people take their next step in following Jesus.
HOW LOBBY PROMOTIONS ARE SCHEDULED
Approval of a ministry event does not automatically include a lobby promotion.
Each request is evaluated based upon factors such as:
To maintain clarity and avoid competing messages, only one ministry or event will generally be featured in the lobby each Sunday.
This allows that ministry to receive focused attention while creating a better experience for everyone attending.
THE GET CONNECTED BOARD
Not every ministry requires a staffed lobby presence.
For ongoing ministries, classes, serving opportunities, and events, we manage and provide the Get Connected Board for all of our ministries and events.
This board serves as a centralized place where attenders can discover ministry opportunities at their own pace.
We will work weekly to make sure that each approved ministry may have a postcard displayed on the board that guests are welcome to take for additional information.
This allows many ministries to remain visible throughout the year without requiring a dedicated lobby promotion weekend.
OUR WELCOME TEAM
Our Welcome Team plays an important role in helping people get connected.
Our volunteers are equipped to:
Rather than relying solely on promotional weekends, we want every guest to know they can stop by the Welcome Desk any Sunday and receive guidance toward their next step.
theCHURCH APP
As our church continues to grow, the Church App is the primary source for discovering everything happening at the Lakeside Campus.
The App includes:
While lobby promotions create awareness, the Church App serves as the ongoing directory for everything happening at theCHURCH.
PRINTED MATERIALS
To provide a clean, welcoming, and distraction-free environment, printed promotional materials may only be displayed in approved communication areas.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Printed materials may not be left on tables, counters, windowsills, coffee stations, seating areas, bathrooms, or other common spaces unless they have been specifically approved by the Lakeside Campus Pastor.
While one flyer or stack of postcards may not seem significant, if every ministry, event, class, and outside organization were permitted to leave materials throughout the building, our campus would quickly become cluttered and confusing.
Our goal is to maintain an environment that is clean, welcoming, and intentionally designed to help people focus on taking their next step rather than sorting through competing messages.
For that reason, any unapproved promotional materials for events or organizations—whether inside or outside theCHURCH—will be removed and discarded when discovered.
Approved communication opportunities such as the Get Connected Board, scheduled Lobby Promotions, and official church communication channels exist so that every ministry has a clear, organized, and equitable way to communicate with our church family.
FINAL APPROVAL
All lobby communication requests are carefully considered.
Ultimately, final approval for all Lobby Promotions at the Lakeside Campus rests solely with the Lakeside Campus Pastor.
Submission of a communication request does not guarantee a scheduled lobby promotion.
OUR COMMITMENT
We love seeing ministry leaders passionately invite people into what God is doing.
Please continue advocating for your ministry and the people you serve.
Our commitment is to steward our lobby spaces with the same intentionality that we steward Vision Sharing—creating clear, focused opportunities that help people take meaningful next steps without overwhelming them with competing messages.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Every ministry matters.
Every event matters.
Every leader matters.
The lobby is an important communication environment, but it is also a place where relationships begin.
By limiting lobby promotions to one featured ministry each Sunday, maintaining an active Get Connected Board, empowering our Welcome Team, directing people to the Church App, and keeping our campus free from unapproved promotional materials, we believe we can create a better experience for every guest while helping more people find the ministry opportunities God has prepared for them.
Thank you for partnering with us as we continue making it easier for people to know Jesus.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our communication philosophy is simple:
When everything is important, nothing is important.
When everything is important, nothing is important.
If every ministry promoted in the lobby every weekend, people would quickly become overwhelmed and eventually stop engaging altogether.
For that reason, our goal is to feature one approved lobby promotion each Sunday.
For that reason, our goal is to feature one approved lobby promotion each Sunday.
This creates a clear point of engagement while allowing each ministry the opportunity to have meaningful conversations with those who are interested.

Each approved promotion will be provided:
- One 36-inch round standing table
- Space to engage guests through conversation
- Opportunity to answer questions

The emphasis should always be on conversations and connections rather than sales or solicitation.
Our desire is for every interaction to help people take their next step in following Jesus.
